eleanor at 15 months: a day in the life

My post last week on being a stay-at-home mom got me thinking about just what day-to-day life looks around here. Eleanor was only 3 months old the last time I did a “day in the life” post, so I figured it was time to do a little updating. My little girl is busy, busy these days – I’ll let her tell you ALL about it!

7:00am – Gooooooood morning! I wake up just about the same time everyday ready for my milk and breakfast! I love eating my “o’s” and I always need a banana to get my day started! My mom keeps trying to switch me to cow’s milk, but almond milk is SO tasty!

After breakfast, I get dressed, brush my teeth (yay), and get my hair done (boo). Then it’s time to play! I LOVE feeding and cuddling my baby and now that I’m a big girl, it’s fun to zoom around the house with my popping toy!

I also like hanging out with my puppy Ruby – she and I both fight over the big fuzzy chair and who gets the best view out the window.

Sometimes I sneak away and get into what my mom calls “mischief.” I’m not sure what that means, but it sure is fun!

At about 9:00, I start getting tired and rubbing my eyes. Sometimes I have to remind my mom that it’s nap time by going to the stairs and saying “nigh nigh.” She says she uses this time to blog.

I like to keep my mom on her toes, so I never nap the same amount from day to day. Usually, I’ll try to keep it around an hour because then it’s snack time! Yum! I’m getting really good at using my spoon and fork, and mom even gives me open cups to drink from so I can be just like her!

Right after snack, we head out for our daily adventure. Mom tries to plan something fun every day. Sometimes it’s a trip to the library to get new books, story time, a morning at the zoo, or even some time to play at the Children’s Museum. I LOVE getting out of the house to see new people and explore new places!

When we get home, it’s time for lunch! Lunch is my biggest meal of the day – all that exploring makes a girl hungry!

My daddy works from home, so on a lucky day, he has time to come upstairs and eat with me. It’s very exciting to see my daddy in the middle of the day. Sometimes I want to ask him to play, but Mom says I can’t knock on his office door because he’s “working.”

When he goes back to work, I blow him kisses to let him know I love him!

And sometimes it makes me sad to say goodbye :(

Mom tells me that at 1:30 it’s time for another nap. She might be right, I’m pretty sleepy by then. She’s always happy to give me extra snuggles if I wake up tired.

After my nap, I get another cup of milk and a snack! I’m a growing girl!

Then I’ll do some reading – I love any classic literature about trains, dogs, or babies!

There’s more time for playing…

And mom turns on Toddler Radio for a fun dance party…

Sometimes I want to go outside, and mom says “no” – that’s NOT my favorite word!

But when daddy gets home, we almost ALWAYS all go outside to swing – weeeeee!

Then before I know it, it’s time for dinner!

I take my puppy for a walk every night. Mom says we all need our exercise.

Then it’s time for my bath – I have the coolest water toys!

Then I brush my teeth, put on my jammies, and mom reads me some books before I go to bed at 7:00.

Phew, what a day! Being 15 months old is exhausting! My days are full of fun, snuggles, and new things to learn!

Your turn:

What does a day in your life look like?

This is too cute. We have a similar routine here except my daughter dropped down to one nap, so it’s utter chaos in the afternoon unless I can get her to nap then. We should have a virtual playdate! ;)

Oh, I’m still not giving up on 2 naps. Eleanor is probably ready to transition to 1, but I LOVE 2 haha! A virtual playdate would be adorable!

This post is adorable! Love all the pictures of your little girl. Such a cutie. Our day is somewhat similar! I did a day in the life post like this a while ago because I get asked now and then “what I do all day” as a SAHM and rarely have an answer. The days go by quick and they are semi-unpredictable with a toddler in the house! Yet, so fun :) I wouldn’t trade these days for the world!

Heehee so cute… our daughters are close in age so our daily routines are VERY similar. We are down to one long nap a day though and we don’t have a puppy to walk :( Not yet anyways! They are so fun at this age and so very exhausting !! Too bad were so far away in NC otherwise we could have fun playdates. And can i just say that i am so glad we DO NOT have that popping toy at our house…. it looks REALLY loud!! This was such a cute post :)

  • Brianna @ I run He tris October 2, 2014, 11:08 am

She is 100% a mini you! She’s precious! I love seeing how y’all spend your day. At Brice’s daycare they cut back to only one nap when they hit 1 year old and I HATE that! Sometimes on the weekend he still takes two naps and I feel like he does so much better that way.
